LA JOYA DEL MES - LA JOYA DE LA SEMANA

He decidido ampliar un poco ésta sección que llevo haciendo ya desde hace algún tiempo, LA JOYA DE LA SEMANA, de manera que una vez al mes crearé un post (LA JOYA DEL MES), un poco más amplio, dedicado al artista destacado de todos los que han aparecido en la sección semanal. FORD FORLANO

FORD FORLANO es una asociación de dos artistas americanos, Steve Ford y David Forlano, creada hace más de 22 años. Aunque ambos son graduados en pintura por la Tyler School of Art, pasión que siguen desarrollando hoy en día, desde 1988 se dedican a la joyería a tiempo completo. Sus joyas son clara inspiración del color y la naturaleza.

"We’ve also noticed other threads from our art school days that have continued to be important. While David’s strength has always been to push color, pattern and surface in new directions, Steve is constantly fascinated by three-dimensional structures and how things fit together mechanically.

Throughout our collaboration, we have often looked to nature for inspiration. In seed clusters, shell formations, and flower buds, for instance, there are carefully organized parts which are arranged beautifully and made up of numerous, seemingly identical, but unique units. These exquisite structures lead us into new ways of envisioning a necklace, for example, both three-dimensionally and texturally."
